British Conservative MP David Amess was reportedly stabbed to death by a 25-year-old Somali Muslim male while speaking with constituents at a church in Essex on Friday.

The death of Sir David Amess was today being treated as a terror attack ‘linked to Islamist extremism’ as officers raided two homes in London and a British Muslim man of Somali descent remained in police custody.
Sir David was holding a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, when a knifeman in the church building launched a frenzied attack. The 69-year-old politician was wounded at least 12 times and died at the scene.
Horrified constituents waiting to see the veteran MP, who has campaigned to help refugees, watched in horror as the assailant leapt on him just after midday. Shortly after midday, the knifeman waited calmly in line after booking in at the constituency surgery before launching the fatal attack, according to witnesses.
Scotland Yard last night confirmed their Counter Terrorism Command are working with officers from the Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit (ERSOU) and Essex Police – and formally declared the incident as terrorism.
Amess backed the Black Lives Matter movement in America in June 2020 amid widespread rioting and demanded Britain not provide any riot gear to help our police, whom he said committed “murder” in the death of George Floyd.
“I have been shocked, horrified and repulsed at the murder of a US citizen by a policeman, with three officers standing by and doing nothing to help,” Amess said in statement on June 4, 2020 as American cities were going up in flames. “Absolutely unforgivable in every respect.”
“I have also added my name to the cross-party letter to Liz Truss asking the government to freeze exports of riot control equipment to the United States.”
Though Amess found the actions of Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s back “unforgivable,” he rushed to defend Harvey Weinstein from allegations of sexual assault in Oct 2017.
A Tory MP has been slammed after comments dismissing the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault allegations as “dubious to say the least” were attributed to him.
Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, was quoted as saying the “sudden flurry of alleged inappropriate advances beggars belief”.
However, hours later he issued a retraction, blaming his parliamentary office for issuing a press release which had not been “authorised”.
Amess was a champion of refugee resettlement in the UK who backed the Red Cross’s “Every Refugee Matters” campaign and worked to break down the “barriers” blocking migrants from “accessing education and healthcare,” a.k.a. collecting welfare.
“It is vital that we are able to help and provide protection to the world’s most vulnerable,” Amess said in a June 2019 press release.
After being stabbed at least 12 times by one of the “world’s most vulnerable,” Amess was reportedly denied his last rites:
As word spread, a Roman Catholic priest, Father Jeffrey Woolnough, arrived at the police cordon stretching across tree-lined Eastwood Road North, offering to administer the last rites to the devoutly Catholic MP.
He said: ‘The officers said that because it was a crime scene, and also the nature of the scene, it just wasn’t possible.’
Whereas the murder of Jo Cox was broadcast throughout the world for days with endless calls for introspection and the blame placed on Brexiteers and British nationalists, we all know Amess’s murder is just going to be brushed under the rug.
It’s “part and parcel of living in a big city.”
Nonetheless, Christians United for Israel (UK) said Friday that he will be remembered as “a friend of Israel and advocate for Holocaust education.”
